222 E. College Street - our new home!

Clark and I want to send out our new address. We moved Clark, Clayton, and Katie into our new house this weekend. Camille and I will be moving in June 17th (the day after the wedding). We spent the weekend unpacking, organizing, and were already into small home improvement projects. We've made a trip to Lowe's and spent some gift cards that we have received at wedding showers - that was fun!! Our new address is 222 E. College St. Brownsville, TN 38012. We don't have a land line yet, but will send that out when we do. We look so forward to creating this new home together. Thanks for all your love and support.

Easter and Spring Break

Easter and Spring Break started off with a blast. Clark had outpatient surgery on April 5th. That same morning the transmission on my car DIED and I was supposed to be leaving Asheville the next morning to go to Brownsville to relieve Clark's parents of post surgery duty. Friday morning we rented a car and headed on to Brownsville.

On Saturday morning we took the kids to a FREEZING Easter egg hunt. We then went to look for vehicles and ended up buying a Honda Odyssey mini-van!! Yes, I am officially a soccer (and baseball and softball) mom now. We are enjoying all the space it has to offer. That afternoon we dyed Easter eggs.

On Easter morning the kids hunted the eggs that the Easter Bunny hid, went to church and a nice lunch. That night we went to some friends' house for a cookout.

Katie and Clayton had school so Camille and I hung out, ran errands, and visited the library every day since I have a UoP class going on right now (I teach for University of Phoenix Online for those who didn't know).

Heather came to visit Tuesday-Thursday which worked out nicely because Clark had to fly to Palm Beach, FL to transport a client back to Memphis. It was nice to have someone to hang out with. We took Camille to Anderson (where she will attend Kindergarten) for a tour and then went to eat lunch with Katie and Clayton at each of their schools. Heather was also able to go look at houses with me.

We put a contract on a house and we are very excited about it. It is the house that we looked at in January and many of you have already seen pictures. It is currently a duplex, but as part of the purchase, it will be made back into one house. http://mamiewnc.photosite.com/collegesthouse/ If you click on each picture instead of viewing the slide show you can read the comments about the picture at the bottom.

Clark's parents came back into town on Friday for Katie's Jamboree on Saturday morning, but it was rained out. Clark and I went to Memphis on Saturday for a work function and spent the night there without the kids. We certainly enjoyed it!!

Spring (and soccer) have sprung!

Camille had her first soccer game of the season today. My batteries were dying so I only got one (poor) shot. This afternoon we went to the Botanical Gardens. It was so pretty and of course Camille ended up in the creek. Camille's 5th Birthday

Camille turned 5 on March 13th. She had her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and had a blast (as you can see in her dance moves)! Gami, Clark, Clayton and Katie were able to come in town for the party.

Camille wants to be a vet and so I think one of her favorite gifts was the vet set from Gami. It is complete with everything she needs including her "Dr. Camille" nametag. Click here to see other great pictures from the party and the weekend. http://mamiewnc.photosite.com/camillesbirthday/

Visit from Aunt Feather

Aunt Feather came for a visit this weekend. We had a great time, especially Camille getting loaded down with prizes from Mardi Gras (sweet Musings eye mask was one of the MANY prizes).

We walked around/shopped downtown Saturday and saw Charlotte's Web at Asheville Pizza and Brewing. Sunday we went to church then for beautiful drive and short hike at Craggy Gardens.
(side note: I made the green sweater I'm wearing in the church picture)

Tonight Camille and I made cupcakes for her birthday tomorrow and needless to say, she enjoyed licking the bowl.

Biltmore Weekend

Clark and Clayton came to Asheville for the weekend (Katie stayed in Brownsville for a birthday party and we missed her).
Saturday morning we went to the Biltmore House and took a 2.5 hour tour. Clayton says he wants to buy it and Camille was so excited to be in a real castle (every room was a princess room). That is Camille in the lawn in front of the House.

Saturday night we went bowling and that was quite entertaining. Sunday morning we woke up to a little surprise snow.

Clayton's Birthday Weekend

Clayton turned 10 on Sunday!! He had a great party at Lazertron in Memphis. They played Lazer tag, had cake and pizza, opened presents and then played the games. It was a great party with lots of friends and fun.

January Going-ons

January has been pretty busy so far. Clark has moved to Brownsville and is working in Memphis. Clayton is playing basketball and Katie is cheering for Upward. Camille and I are doing pretty much the same ol' thing. Rockstar is getting bigger everyday and Jack certainly enjoys having another dog around again.

Christmas!!

Wow! Christmas was great, but REALLY busy. All 3 kids got new bikes (among MANY other things).

Clayton was excited about meeting my cousin, Seth Smith, who plays baseball for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.

It was a whirlwind trip and even though I didn't get to hang out with the friends I usually visit, it was a nice trip to Mississippi. I am looking forward to living 6 hours closer to home so I can see everyone more often.

Beautiful Dresses

Mom won't toot her own horn so I'm going to do it for her. I love these two dresses she made for Camille. The blue dress has the matching coat and the lace collar on it was one that Heather and I both wore when we were growing up. These pictures, as usual, are self posed. Camille is such a ham! She was directing me on how to take the picture. I hope the holiday season is going well for everyone.

Rockstar and Thanksgiving

We have a new addition to our family - Rockstar. She is our new 5-week old puppy and we LOVE her. Some friends in Brownsville had some puppies and once we saw them we couldn't turn them down. Here are some more pictures of her (http://mamiewnc.photosite.com/rockstar/).

On Thanksgiving Mom, Heather, Clark, Camille and I went to "the country" for Thanksgiving. There was much food, fun with cousins and even a hayride. Here are pictures (
http://mamiewnc.photosite.com/countrythanksgiving/).

That afternoon, Clark and I went to his parents for more Thanksgiving fun with family. I didn't have my camera because I left it with Aunt Feather and Gami to take pictures of the hayride, but Rockstar was the hit of the night.

On Friday Camille and I went to visit Rebecca, Lawrence, Mary Robinson and to meet baby Thomas. Somehow I didn't get a picture of Thomas, but I did get several cute ones of Camille and Mary Robinson.
That night Clark, Heather, Camille and I went to Dad and Alice's for another delicious Thanksgiving feast. On Saturday, Clark, Camille and I drove to Brownsville and picked up Clayton and Katie. We hung out at the hotel and went skating for a little while (too many wild and crazy teenagers ;-). It was Camille's first time to skate on real skates. Here are some more pictures from the weekend (http://mamiewnc.photosite.com/thanksgiving/).

Katie's 7th Birthday

Last weekend was Katie's 7th birthday. We picked up Katie and her friends from school in a Limo and took them all home. On Saturday she had a party at her house. She had a big blow-up sports obstacle course and a hayride. She also gave lots of rides in her new Disney Princess convertible. Click here http://www.mamiewnc.photosite.com/katiesbirthday for more pictures (I forgot my digital camera, so these are from a disposable and the quality isn't the best).

WE'RE ENGAGED!!

What an amazing weekend!! Clark borrowed a friend's limo for Katie's birthday (a post coming later) and we picked up several of Katie and Clayton's friends from school. After we dropped off the last kid I got in the limo and everyone (Clark, Clayton, Katie, Camille, JJ, and Pops) were acting weird and all the sudden they all popped the question! I was very surprised - Clark had me completely fooled and it was so awesome that it was with the kids. It is important to both of us that they be a big part of all this. We're very excited and are planning on gettin' hitched in June. Clark asked me in high school if I would marry him and I said "someday." I guess that someday is here. I had several requests for a picture of the ring so here it is. I LOVE it!!

Halloween

Trick or Treating was fun once again this year. Camille, Zoe, Katie, and Abby had a blast. It was quite a princess/fairy/anything really girly year as far as costumes.

Broadway Review

This is certainly not the best picture, but is it hard to catch a star is action. Clayton was in a Broadway Review this weekend. He did a terrific job as the Tin Man and as Simba. He even had several young ladies asking for his autograph. It was a great weekend. Click http://www.mamiewnc.photosite.com/broadwayreview to see more pictures from the weekend.

Hickory Nut Gap Farm

Today Camille and I went to Hickory Nut Gap Farm with people from church. We had a picnic by a stream, purchased apples from their orchard, walked through the corn maze, pet horses, looked at some BIG and little pigs, and played with the chickens. It was hilarious watching Camille chase them. She was so excited when she finally caught one.

Gatlinburg

Camille, Clark, and I were invited to spend the weekend with Dad, Alice, Uncle Mack, Aunt Linda, and Caryl at Mack and Linda's cabin in Gatlinburg.

Camille and I got there Thursday night to join everyone (except Clark). Friday we spent the day hanging out in and around the cabin while all the other adults went on a long hike (we knew Camille would be much more pleasant at home than on a 3 hour hike). On Friday night we had a surprise early birthday party for Alice and then Clark arrived later.

On Saturday we all went to Laurel Falls for a hike and then downtown to sightsee and visit the Craftsman Fair. There was plenty to be seen!! When we returned to the cabins the neighbors were anxiously waiting to show us pictures of the Momma bear and her 3 cubs that had been up on our porch.

We had a great time. Click here (
http://mamiewnc.photosite.com/gatlinburg) to view all the pictures. Camille is either mad to have her picture taken or she is busy striking a pose in each picture.
