Broadway Review

This is certainly not the best picture, but is it hard to catch a star is action. Clayton was in a Broadway Review this weekend. He did a terrific job as the Tin Man and as Simba. He even had several young ladies asking for his autograph. It was a great weekend. Click http://www.mamiewnc.photosite.com/broadwayreview to see more pictures from the weekend.

Hickory Nut Gap Farm

Today Camille and I went to Hickory Nut Gap Farm with people from church. We had a picnic by a stream, purchased apples from their orchard, walked through the corn maze, pet horses, looked at some BIG and little pigs, and played with the chickens. It was hilarious watching Camille chase them. She was so excited when she finally caught one.

Gatlinburg

Camille, Clark, and I were invited to spend the weekend with Dad, Alice, Uncle Mack, Aunt Linda, and Caryl at Mack and Linda's cabin in Gatlinburg.

Camille and I got there Thursday night to join everyone (except Clark). Friday we spent the day hanging out in and around the cabin while all the other adults went on a long hike (we knew Camille would be much more pleasant at home than on a 3 hour hike). On Friday night we had a surprise early birthday party for Alice and then Clark arrived later.

On Saturday we all went to Laurel Falls for a hike and then downtown to sightsee and visit the Craftsman Fair. There was plenty to be seen!! When we returned to the cabins the neighbors were anxiously waiting to show us pictures of the Momma bear and her 3 cubs that had been up on our porch.

We had a great time. Click here (

The Knoxville Zoo

Camille and I went to Knoxville Friday night and spent the night with Vaiden and Scott Taylor and their kids, Katie and Davis. It was Katie's first sleepover. Vaiden and I have been talking about taking the girls to the zoo for probably about 2 years and we finally did it Saturday. We had a great time.

The zoo had an elephant named Mamie who died about 5 weeks ago. Camille was thrilled to have her picture taken next to the elephant measure board bearing Mamie's name (as you'll be able to tell from her expression). Neither girls would look at the camera all day. I don't understand why we weren't more interesting than the animals.

My Blog

I wanted to create a space where I could post pictures and keep everyone updated on what's going on in my life. Camille and I are still loving living in Asheville.

Camille is 4 1/2 and is in her last year of Preschool. I can't believe she is going to Kindergarten next year. She is quite a character and greatly enjoys keeping us entertained.

I'm in my 6th year of teaching at Asheville Middle School, but am teaching a new reading program this year which has kept me VERY busy. For those of you who don't know it, I'm also dating Clark Converse, my high school sweetheart. We've been back together for 6 months and it is a wonderful thing!! His children are Clayton (9) and Katie (6).

I will be posting pictures on here as events happen in my life. I will send the link out when I post new pictures. Enjoy!!
