Camp Bratton-Green

Most everyone who knows me well enough to be reading this blog knows how much I love Camp Bratton-Green. I've missed only 5-6 summers since 1983. I went back this summer as adult staff and took Katie and Camille. This was Camille's 3rd summer to go and Katie's 1st. They both had a blast. I've posted tons of pictures, but I had a lot more that I didn't post.

Making magazine beads at the Arts and Crafts Shack.

Camille going over the wall. We spent most of our time at the ropes course, Craft Shack and pool.

The girls were sheep in a skit one night.

Camille jumping off the Pirate's Plank at the ropes course. It is about 30-35 feet high.

Buddy and Duncan took Whit and Harper with them to play disc golf.

The girls really enjoyed the babies (Whit Turpin and Harper Gray). Whit especially adored Katie and they were together all the time!

When Camille went to the beach at the beginning of July she bought a hermit crab and named her Caroline. Caroline died while we were at camp, so we buried her and made a sign. As we were making the sign Camille informed me that Caroline is NOT spelled with an "a" therefore we have "Ceroline."

Is it in her blood? Will she run the ropes course some day like her mom??

Getting ready to go across the catwalk.

Camille, Whit, and Harper

Camille took this of Leahbeth and Whit...

and of Harper and Duncan......

and of Ann Marie, me and Amber. Amber said she looks like she is using the sign for "please" that Whit and Harper use.

The soapy slide is a wonderful Bratton-Green tradition.

Whit even joined in the fun.

Katie getting harnessed to do "The Circuit." Both girls did it. It consists of climbing a tree, walking across a rope bridge, walking across a horizontal log, then across a two-line bridge (all about 25-30 feet high). Then they ride a long zip line. It is so much fun and both girls were really brave.

Clark was able to come visit for a little while on Friday and Saturday.

Ready to take on the circuit.

There are always fun props sitting around.

All dressed up for the dance.

Camille decided she'd rather wear something from the costume closet.

Katie had a blast dancing with the "big girls."
